Dye Construction and Development - Chapin Station Subdivision
Recently-promulgated rules developed by the St. Johns River Water Management District necessitate monitoring at facilities
within the Lake Apopka (Florida) hydrologic basin. These rules require monitoring total discharge from the site, periodic discharge
sampling for total phosphorus, measurement of rainfall at the site, and the calculation of annual phosphorus loading. HSA
Golden designed an automated stormwater monitoring system customized to meet the District's requirements. Monitoring
parameters are recorded using a data logger; data are collected periodically in the field using a personal
digital assistant (PDA). District personnel have indicated that HSA Golden is the first consulting firm to perform Apopka
Rule monitoring and reporting activities.
