Since 1989, HSA Golden has assisted Coronado Paint Company with environmental matters at their Edgewater, Florida, and Schertz, Texas, manufacturing facilities. Services have included RCRA and CERCLA compliance, corporate acquisitions, real estate purchases, contamination assessment, and remediation. In addition to the implementation of soil vapor extraction and groundwater pump-and-treat systems at Coronado's Florida facility, innovative remedial solutions included design of a solar evaporation system to reclaim hazardous waste and use it as raw manufacturing material for a commercial coating product. At an Edgewater, Florida, property formerly owned by Coronado, HSA Golden also directed the excavation of 5,000 cubic yards of paint, containers, and contaminated soil, with tight control of waste separation to minimize disposal costs.
